Simply Stunning...

We're starting out this week of the new adventures of old furniture by checking in on our friend Susan of Stone Creek ReDesigns & Finds.  Recently Susan came across this dresser...

I have to tell you something about Susan.  She is not the type to just paint away.  She always gives careful consideration to what is best for the piece.  As with this piece, Susan says had it been in great shape, she'd have "just polished her up and let her be".   That wasn't the case though.  This lovely dresser had been through some rough times.

Susan chose Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Boxwood for this makeover.  After painting it and waxing, she was rewarded with a stunning dresser...

I've never worked with Milk Paint before but after seeing some of the fabulous creations Susan has accomplished, I'm thinking the time is drawing near for me to give it a try for myself.

You might recall we've seen Susan's work here before.  Remember her gorgeous Fainting Couch with the surprise detail on the backOr the beautiful dresser she ended up with after mixing her own custom color of blue?  Then there was the mix of wood and paint for just a touch of masculinity on another old dresser Or how about the great repurpose she did with a non-working Grandfather clock?

You can see more pictures and details of this furniture flip by checking out Susan's Simply Stone Creek blogThey are based in Virginia.  You can also find her on her Stone Creek ReDesigns & Finds Facebook page.  Get over there and tell her you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks Susan for the wonderful contribution you make to the world of Furniture Flippin'.  I hope 2014 is a stellar year for you.

Dear readers, I'm currently looking for submissions for our "What Would You Do?" feature on our Furniture Flippin' Facebook page.  If you have a piece of furniture you'd like to makeover but aren't quite sure what to do, email me a picture and details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .  I'll present it to our Furniture Flippin' crew and they'll offer up their advice.  Then once you finish it, I'll follow up with you and we'll check out what you did do!
Have a great Monday!
