The Lesser Dresser Becomes A Success(or)...

What would Halloween be without a scary tale.  Let's set the scene.  Cue Snoopy...

It was a dark and stormy night and this little woe-begone of a dresser stood idly by the side of the road.  He had been deserted and left there for what seemed weeks or longer.  He couldn't say for sure.  All he knew was that he was cold, wet, and his old tired boards were warped.  He was about ready to give it up.  When what to his weary and wondering eyes should appear? A lady to save him and ease his fear.

Who was this woman on a saving mission?  It was none other than Che from Juxtaposition.  She saw his condition and had her suspicion, that with some ambition, she could ease his transition.  (That's it for the rhyming.  I'm all out.)

Che had to do some major revamping.  For instance, the bottom drawer would not go back together.  So, she took the front of it and hinged it on, making a shelf inside instead of a drawer.  (Pretty clever Che!)

Once the repairs were complete, she made him handsome again by painting him with Fossil Grey and Swiss Coffee by CIL. His top was stained with Dark Walnut.

Let's take a look at this no longer discarded dresser...

Isn't he handsome?  I'm so happy he was rescued and given a new life.  Way to go Che!  He is now happily ensconced in his new home.  He.  Is.  Sold.

Have no fear though people because Che is always busy working on something fantastic.  She is based in British Columbia.  She describes her business as "A motley collection of re-designed furniture, lighting, and home decor elements."  Don't you love that?  I do!  Skip on over to her Juxtaposition Facebook page and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Che thank you for sharing your very scary furniture flip!  It certainly isn't frightening anymore.  Good save!

If YOU have a furniture flip you'd like to have featured here, please email me the before/after pictures and all of the details to furnitureflippin@gmail.com .  I'll be watching for your email.  Don't let me down!

Happy Halloween!  I like Paydays and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  You can knock on my door and I'll gladly take your candy.

  1. That is an amazing transformation! The before picture looks like it is a good piece, run down but worth saving. I love the hinged bottom drawer!
