Doing His Bidding...

Oh, Chester do you realize what a lucky little chest of drawers you are?  Sure, your day might have started out badly.  After all, there you sat at an auction house with the rest of the unwanted and neglected furniture.  You watched as the other pieces of furniture were inspected along side of you.  You hoped nobody would notice that your drawers wouldn't open.  Heck, you didn't even have any hardware to make the job of opening them a little bit easier.  It would take somebody special to bid on you.

Then you caught Crystal of Urban Patina checking you out from across the room.  She felt the sadness you displayed.  She also noticed something else about you that the others had overlooked...she noticed your potential and she was determined to take you home with her that night.  The bidding began.  Crystal won you for the sum of $30.00.  Home you went with the promise of a brighter future.

Crystal wanted you to have the two-tone effect of wood and paint.  She allowed your beautiful wood grain to shine with an application of Minwax Dark Walnut stain (my personal fave!) on those drawers of yours.  She gave you beautiful new bronze finish pulls.  Then she painted the rest of you using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite with Aubusson undertones.  Look at the slight distressing to your painted finish.  Beautiful.

Now let's take a look at all of you.  Stand tall Chester!

Well, if you aren't the hottie now Chester!  Your new look was so appealing that you sold pretty much immediately after Crystal had you completed.  Kudos to you Chester and kudos to your benefactor Crystal!

You can see more pictures of Chester on the Urban Patina Blog.  There you will also be treated to many more furniture pieces Crystal has finished.  Urban Patina is based in Shakopee, Minnesota.  You can also follow along with Crystal on the Urban Patina Facebook Page.  Stop by there today and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Crystal for sharing your wonderful furniture flip!

Hey dear readers!  Have I told you lately how much I appreciate each and every one of you?  Well, I do!  Thanks so much for the kind comments and messages you send me.  Your comments and support really mean a lot to me.  I'd like for you to become even more involved.  You don't have to have a furniture flippin' business to be featured here.  If you've made over a piece of furniture for yourself that counts, too!  Just email me before/after pictures and plenty of details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .  The more details the better.  I'll be watching!  Be patient though because sometimes it does take me awhile to get everyone on.
 See you tomorrow!
~ Stephanie
