Let's Rally Around Her..

It's Friday.  The last day of a long work week for many.  We all have our plans for the weekend and projects to do.  One of us, though, isn't home right now.  She is on deployment in Afghanistan having just arrived yesterday.  Say hello again to Claudia of ReDone To Be ReLoved.

You recall meeting Claudia here twice before.  The first time was on Memorial Day, 2013, when I featured her industrial style dresser makeover and we met her husband, too.  He's also a Soldier.  Then again, back in September when she went the opposite direction and went all girly on another dresser, this time incorporating a Harlequin design. Today, we are taking a look at a project she calls "Ruby".  She found Ruby for sale for $40.

Claudia stripped the dresser top and drawers down to the wood.  It took many hours and a lot of hard work.  But, look at the woodgrain she uncovered.

Claudia chose Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emporer's Silk for the body.  She followed that up with applications of light and dark wax.

The top and drawer fronts were stained.

She wasn't fond of the original hardware and chose to replace them.

Let's take a look at the new and improved "Ruby".

Just gorgeous!  So gorgeous, that Claudia's husband insisted they NOT sell this one.  It's hanging out in Claudia's living room waiting for her to return.

You can see more pictures and the steps Claudia took in making over Ruby by visiting her ReDone To Be Reloved blog.   You can also find her on her on ReDone To Be Reloved Facebook page.

Let's do more than just say "Hey!  I saw you on Furniture Flippin'!"  Let's really rally around her and show her our support and appreciation for her while she is gone.  Let's go to her blog, go to her Facebook page, and let her know we are all praying for her safety.  I mean REALLY flood her blog/page.  I know how many read this blog on a daily basis.  (I thank you for your readership!)  Can you imagine how much it would mean to receive so many well wishes and thoughts of encouragement?  It's really such a small thing for us to do.  Look at what she is doing for us.  She's a hero!

Thanks so much Claudia for all you do for each and every one of us.  Thank you for the sacrifices that you, your husband and your family make on our behalf.  Stay safe and hurry back to all of us.

That brings to a close another week of Furniture Flippin'.  See you on Monday!

  2. Claudia isn't just an awesome creative talent. She's an inspiration and a role model. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know yet is adamant about standards. She's passionate and protective of all that come in her circle as well as those in need. If there's a job to be done, she's your Gal and I'm grateful she's on our team.
