Northern Exposure...

We are traveling way up north, north to Alaska today.  That's where we are going to meet up with Jennifer of Perfectly Painted.  Jennifer comes by furniture flippin' naturally.  She's at least a second generation flipper.  Her mom is Sherri of Simply Paint It.  Last winter Jennifer's mom came for a visit.  She and Jennifer started work on this sad looking secretary desk.

When they found this piece it had definitely seen better days.  Jennifer writes, "The whole thing stunk, it had thick & yellowing who knows what peeling off and the flip down desk part was hanging on by a thread."

At that time Jennifer and Sherri painted it using a chalk paint Jennifer had on hand.  It was pretty enough but not quite what Jennifer had pictured.  So, mom headed back home and the desk languished in a corner looking better than it had but not quite what it could potentially become.

Flash forward six months.  Mom comes back for a visit and they decided it was time to tackle this piece once again.  This time around though, they were going to use Old Town Paints.  Sherri had fallen in love with that paint and felt that French Blue and Old Town Cream would be the perfect color combination.

The two of them tag-teamed it once again.  They gave it a couple of coats of paint, created a beautiful multicolored design using a stencil, applied some antiquing glaze and called this makeover complete.

It turned out so good, Jennifer hated to see it go.  But, go it did.  It's now happily settled in it's new home with it's new owners.

Let's take one more look at it.
You can follow along with the adventures of Jennifer on her Perfectly Painted Facebook page.  She has a lot more beautiful makeovers to share with you.  Head on over there and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Jennifer for sharing your fantastic furniture flip!  I am typing this at a secretary desk and I know exactly what a pain in the patootie they are to paint!  Great job!

Dear readers, we are always on the lookout for talented furniture flippers to feature here on the blog.  You don't have to have a website or a blog, it can be a flip you've done for yourself.  We'd love to see it and show it off for you.  Email me at furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .
