The Scenario In Ontario...

It's been awhile since we caught up with our friend Leone from 1 Girl 1 Brush.  When we last featured her she had scored two chairs at the cost of one dollar each.  (I should have named that blog post, 1 Girl 1 Brush 1 Dollar.  NOW I think of that.)  Well, she saved a dollar on today's featured furniture flip because she got it for FREE.

Be warned if you are a furniture flipper you may seriously considering moving to Burlington, Ontario after you read this.  Leone told me that about every four weeks from Spring to Summer they have what is called Bulk Item Pickups.  That's where you can put your old furniture out with your garbage.  She has
scored about 3/4 of her furniture hoarding pile that way.  It was on one of those days that she and her handsome handy husband were making a furniture run.  They had just returned home with their latest load when their kids, who were heading around the corner to the local grocery store for a snack, yelled out from the end of the driveway that the neighbors had put out a dresser.  Leone admits she was tired and running out of room in the shop and at first resisted going to look for about ZERO seconds.  (Silly Leone.  I knew she wouldn't be able tor resist.)  Good thing she went because she discovered two things at that moment:  1.) A china cabinet in perfect condition, and she said, 2.) Her kids need to learn what a dresser is.  Well, it was too big for their car so, there they went just a walkin' it down the street, Leone, her hubby and the china cabinet.  Yes, that's right.  They walked that baby home!

Leone admits that this piece took a lot of time.  She had custom orders in between so she had to work on it as she could between projects. She painted it in chalk paint in Pure White and Paris Grey.  Then she stenciled the inside with a pattern called Zamira from Cutting Edge Stencils.  Finally, she hand waxed it in clear and added new knobs.

Let's take a look at the transformation...

This gorgeous updated China Cabinet was listed for sale on Kijiji but it didn't last long.  It was bought up and now it resides beautifully in it's new home with it's new owners.

I love seeing where pieces end up.  From the curb to a lovely and tastefully decorated dining room.  What a happy ending!

You can find Leone on her 1 Girl 1 Brush Facebook page.  There she'll keep you up to date on what she is currently working on and you'll probably find something you can't live without.  Head on over there and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Leone for sharing your exquisite furniture flip.  And for making me seriously consider moving to Ontario.
