Hey, Lady! Can I Come Home With You?

This little guy was hanging out one day at a garage sale just waiting for the right person to come along and take him home...

Lucky for him, that lady did show up and her name is Cindi from REpurpose, REcraft, REloved.  When he finally did catch her attention, Cindi admits she immediately fell in love with him.  However, some changes were going to have to be made.

Her first thought was "Colonial Red".  She admits she had never done a piece in red before and honestly, all she had ever tackled in the past were smaller items, and never a large piece of furniture.

Undaunted, Cindi persevered.  It took her some time and few trips to Lowes to get just the shade of red she had imagined.  Once she hit upon that color she went to work making her own chalk-type paint.  She applied two coats of the red, glazed it with an antique deep dark black/brown, followed by Annie Sloan Dark Wax which she "buffed the heck out of" and then distressed it by hand with a sanding block.  The final touch she added was a fleur de lis stenciled on the bottom in a deep black.

Let's see how her very first furniture flip turned out...

He sure is easy on the eyes now!  I have to admit, this color suits him much better than the dull drab brown he used to sport.

You can own this magnificent bench!  That's right.  If you live in Ontario you can meet Cindi of REpurpose, REcraft, REloved at the Fall Fling Event hosted by the ladies of Under The Toadstool and buy him.  They are offering a day filled with vintage and shabby chic shopping, refreshments, give-aways, and a special guest will be there, too!  It's this Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 10am - 5pm behind Under The Toadstool, located at 43 King Street East, Bowmanville, Ontario.  You can read more about it on their Under The Toadstool Facebook page.

Be sure and check out REpurpose, REcraft, REloved on Facebook.  Let Cindi know you saw her bench on Furniture Flippin'.  Start your weekend off with some kindness towards your fellow furniture flipper, you'll be glad you did.  As always, comments are always welcome here on the blog, too.

Thanks so much Cindi for sharing your first furniture flip!  I hope it sells the minute you open your booth on Saturday.

If you have a furniture flip you'd like us to share with our readers, feel free to email us at furnitureflippin@yahoo.com with your before/after pictures and all of the details.  We'd love to show it off for you.
