Who's Next? Me! Me! Pick ME!!!

Hey you!  Yes, YOU.  The one with the huge stash of furniture waiting to be made over.  Yeah, you know I'm talking to you.  You finish a project and then survey your stash, wondering what to tackle next.  There is at least one piece that you are avoiding making eye contact with, isn't there?  You can pretend that you don't see it, but for how long?  How long are you willing to let it sit there patiently waiting for you to transform it?  Doesn't it make you feel bad?  Don't you feel like you are letting it down?  What are you afraid of?

Well...you need to do what Sally of The Sassy Stripper did.  She was just like you (AND ME!  I'm a TOTAL avoider!  I could be the President of the Total Avoider of Difficult Flips Club).  She would pretend to not see the hulking armoire standing in her workshop.  Why?  It intimidated her.

Here's the intimidator before...

Pretty scary looking isn't it?  Don't get me wrong, it's strong and sturdy, well made with a lot of potential.  It's the sheer size of it that would be enough to send anybody running.  The Sassy Stripper aka Sally faced her fears and mustering up all of her courage, she pointed her finger at him and said, "YOU!  Your time has finally arrived!"  (I don't know if she actually said that or pointed but it makes for good story telling.)

She was meticulous in painting this piece.  She felt it had waited so long it deserved some attention to detail.  Periwinkle Blue and Chantilly Lace were the colors she chose to use.  The original hardware was gorgeous and she gave them a coat of paint, as well.  The end result when she was finished is this...

There are more pictures of this magnificent makeover on The Sassy Stripper's Facebook Page .  You are going to want to check it out in detail.

Back to YOU now.  Put your big girl or big boy pants on and quit being chicken of that piece that you've been avoiding.   Take this as your challenge for the weekend.  Push the easier projects aside and tackle a toughie, so says the lady with a garage full of her own untouched intimidating projects.

For those of you who are in the Toronto area, you aren't going to be working on projects this weekend!  We have different plans for you!  You are going to go visit The Sassy Stripper and her big sis, Carole of Toronto Shabby Chic.  They are having a huge 2nd Annual Summer Sale this Saturday and Sunday at their workshop at 187 Castlefield Avenue in the Yonge/Eglinton area of Toronto.  They have accumulated so much furniture that the workshop is full and they need to move it out and BUY MORE!  Help a sister(s) out!

Thanks to Carole for submitting her little sis Sally's furniture flip!
