Life Lessons Through Furniture Flippin'

We are starting off this week's furniture flips with a special one indeed.  We are featuring a furniture flippin' family.  I'd like you to meet Nick, Jenny, and their two children Katie, age 6, and Dylan, age 4.  They are the family behind New 4 You 2 Furniture.

Nick writes, "This is truly a family business.  My daughter, Katie, who is 6, is out there sanding and painting.  Dylan, age 4, helps with the same and is a great "mover" of items, (his cute factor goes  a long way).  My wife, Jenny, is the searcher of furniture, sharer of ideas, and the biggest fan of what we do.  We do this as a way to have fun and show that you can dream and achieve.  We share our thoughts and plans with the kiddos and they see it become reality and that it is okay to make mistakes and change along the way.  It's life's lessons through furniture flipping."

Isn't that great?  How awesome is that!?!

Recently the family came across this cute corner cabinet while on one of their latest adventures.

The bottom needed some repair, the shelves were cracked, but the potential was there for this to become a fantastic piece.

They chose to refinish the piece with Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue and distress it lightly.  They replaced the plastic door panel with a fantastic handmade chalkboard giving the piece a completely new look.  Lastly, they decided to give the inner shelves an update by covering each one with some fabric bought on clearance.

Let's take a look at the after...

Isn't that darling?  In this case, they used it as an awesome toy storage cabinet but the possibilities are endless for this cabinet.  It would look equally great in a kitchen.

Head on over to New 4 You 2 Furniture's Facebook page, become a fan and follow their family's adventures in furniture flippin'.

While you are there leave a message for these two cuties, Katie & Dylan and let them know you saw them on Furniture Flippin'.  We certainly want to encourage this next generation of furniture flippers, don't we?

Thanks Nick & Jenny for sharing your "all in the family furniture flip" with us today and for teaching your kids the value and potential in old furniture rescues.  We look forward to seeing more of what your family accomplishes together.
