A Chest No Less...

...than splendid now that Sheila of Furniture Alchemy totally transformed it from masculine to elegant.

Sheila found this vintage Ethan Allen 3 drawer dresser tucked away at a little thrift shop and knew she could make it something special.  She purchased it and lugged it home to work her magic on it.

Here's the little guy before...

You can tell by the condition of him, he was a hard working chest of drawers.   Sheila chose to paint him in Annie Sloan Paris Grey and then did a large damask stencil on the front in Old White.  The hardware was painted in with the stencil, so that it looks like a continuous piece.  She did some distressing for a vintage look and sealed it all with a clear gloss polyurethane.  The inside of the drawers were finished in Annie Sloan Provence Blue for a little pop of color.

Here's how this chest of drawers looks after his makeover...

Isn't he gorgeous?  I know I'm not the only one to think that way because he sold in just two days!  Way to go Sheila!
