The Hutch With Much Potential...

A little over a month ago I presented to you a China Hutch as a "What Would You Do?" subject on our Furniture Flippin' Facebook page.  Now, this makeover makes me feel totally inferior to our furniture flipper Angelia Anthony.  You see, I move slow as molasses when it comes to furniture flippin' and Angelia already has this one completed and in use!

This was purchased for the sum total of $15.00.  I know!!  I only wish I could find pieces like this for $15.00.  When we presented it to all of you Angelia told us, "There was only one door on top but I have both doors on the bottom. Not sure what to do with it, TV stand? My colors are French blue, cream, and taupe."

To which you responded with the following ideas:  Paint it then hang wine glass and bottle racks in it and use it as a bar cabinet; paint it and put it in the master bath for towels and pretty bath accessories; or paper the inside and use it to display dishes, glasses, or whatever, and finally; make it an Entertainment center, paint with chalkboard paint and trim out with stain.  Those were a few of your wonderful thoughts.

What did Angelia do?  Well, since it only had one door, she removed it and one of the shelves.  Then she took off some laminate on the sides and cleaned it. Then she painted it with chalk paint, distressed it, used a clear wax followed by a dark wax and back to clear wax again to smooth and work the dark wax in plus remove excess.  After some buffing in between each layer of wax was it complete and to her satisfaction?  You betcha it was!  So much so that Angelia decided to keep it for herself.

Check it out...

Pretty awesome looking if I say so myself and I had nothing to do with it!

Angelia is based out of Louisiana and currently is taking a break from furniture flippin' but hopes to get back to it soon.  That means, my dear readers, that you need to bombard today's blog post with comments encouraging her to power forward.  There can never be too many of us out there saving poor neglected uncared for furniture from certain demise.  So, pay it forward and let Angelia know you saw her awesome furniture flip.  (I really need a thesaurus - I seem to use the same adjectives over and over and over.  Who has my name for Christmas?)

Thanks Angelia for sharing your "What Would You Do?" and for showing us exactly what you did do with it!

The rest of you?  Well, how many times do I have to tell you to submit your flip?  Email me your before/after pics and all of the details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .

See you tomorrow with another episode of "As The Furniture Turns".

    1. She is going to do that. She is thinking chalkboard or maybe chicken wire and small clothespins to hang cards and photos.
