Wood You Look At That!

This poor buffet needed a ton of work done to it when Susan from Shoppe La La found it.

It was missing a front leg so the remaining one was removed.  Luckily, the piece is sturdy enough that four legs suits it just fine.

The top of the buffet was in such horrible condition that the only thing they could do is break out the tools and remove all the damaged wood.  They pulled the veneer off and Susan liked the boards underneath so she decided to leave them exposed and stain them.

After all of the woodworking was complete, Susan chose Old Town Paints in the colors Sterling for the body and Vintage White on the details.

Look!  It's a furniture selfie!  Remind me to put that pic on Twitter.  We'll see if we can't beat out Ellen's Oscar pic for most retweets.

This gorgeous buffet was quickly sold and here it is pictured in it's new home...

I love that top.  Great choice in staining it Susan! The colors she chose really bring out the details in it, too.

Shoppe La La is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and they are a proud distributor of Old Town Paints.  You can meet Susan and check out more of her work on her Shoppe La La Facebook page.  Let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Susan for sharing your fantastic furniture flip!

  9. Have a set just like this that I have been using for 3 decades !!! It still has its original stain but this is a great idea for refinishing. Tried to "dip" the tables and chairs and then stain again, but they eventually fell apart. Never to "dip" again !!! Would like to see the boards under the veneer on the top. I DO LOVE THIS SET ALOT !!!

    1. Jeanne did you check out her Facebook page? She may have more pictures of the top for you to see. I had a table and chairs dipped too. So far they are holding up. I'd cry if they started falling apart. They used to belong to my grandmother. :-)
