Well, today you will see this sad beat up desk go from forlorn to fun and it's all courtesy of Julie from Simple Redesign. You remember Julie. Of the three furniture to bathroom vanities that have been featured on the blog, she is responsible for two of them. I heart Julie's work. If you don't follow her blog then all I can say is that you are missing out. BIG TIME.
Julie stripped and then sanded the top of this desk. The hardware was gorgeous to begin with so all she did there was update it with Oil Rubbed Bronze paint. The top was stained with Minwax Dark Walnut stain. (That's my favorite color stain of theirs. Have you tried it yourself yet? You really should!) The base was primed and then painted using Sherwin Williams Overt Green. A light brown glazed was applied followed by a clear coat over it all.
Check it out now...
Isn't it lovely? Here's one more for good luck!
Beautiful!! Head on over to the Simple Redesign blog and see more of Julie's work. It's not just about the furniture. You can see some cool projects she's done in her own home, too. You can also follow along with her on her Simple Redesign Facebook page. Let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'. Then, and only then, can you go back to your pinchin' of people who are not wearing green today.
Oh, for those of you who are new to our blog. Welcome and you can see the first bathroom vanity of Julie's I featured by clicking right here and the second one by clicking here.
There you go! We're kicking of St. Patty's Day and this week of Furniture Flippin' in style! I'll see YOU tomorrow morning!
