Let's Rally Around Her..

It's Friday.  The last day of a long work week for many.  We all have our plans for the weekend and projects to do.  One of us, though, isn't home right now.  She is on deployment in Afghanistan having just arrived yesterday.  Say hello again to Claudia of ReDone To Be ReLoved.

You recall meeting Claudia here twice before.  The first time was on Memorial Day, 2013, when I featured her industrial style dresser makeover and we met her husband, too.  He's also a Soldier.  Then again, back in September when she went the opposite direction and went all girly on another dresser, this time incorporating a Harlequin design. Today, we are taking a look at a project she calls "Ruby".  She found Ruby for sale for $40.

Claudia stripped the dresser top and drawers down to the wood.  It took many hours and a lot of hard work.  But, look at the woodgrain she uncovered.

Claudia chose Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emporer's Silk for the body.  She followed that up with applications of light and dark wax.

The top and drawer fronts were stained.

She wasn't fond of the original hardware and chose to replace them.

Let's take a look at the new and improved "Ruby".

Just gorgeous!  So gorgeous, that Claudia's husband insisted they NOT sell this one.  It's hanging out in Claudia's living room waiting for her to return.

You can see more pictures and the steps Claudia took in making over Ruby by visiting her ReDone To Be Reloved blog.   You can also find her on her on ReDone To Be Reloved Facebook page.

Let's do more than just say "Hey!  I saw you on Furniture Flippin'!"  Let's really rally around her and show her our support and appreciation for her while she is gone.  Let's go to her blog, go to her Facebook page, and let her know we are all praying for her safety.  I mean REALLY flood her blog/page.  I know how many read this blog on a daily basis.  (I thank you for your readership!)  Can you imagine how much it would mean to receive so many well wishes and thoughts of encouragement?  It's really such a small thing for us to do.  Look at what she is doing for us.  She's a hero!

Thanks so much Claudia for all you do for each and every one of us.  Thank you for the sacrifices that you, your husband and your family make on our behalf.  Stay safe and hurry back to all of us.

That brings to a close another week of Furniture Flippin'.  See you on Monday!

A Wreck On The Deck...

We've all seen them.  Lonely dressers left to languish outside in the elements.  There's one down the street from me right now and I'd go rescue it but I have a strict no trespassing rule.  I don't need to end up in the clink, no matter how good the food may be.  (My friend is the food service director at the one I'd most likely end up at but I doubt that they'd let her hang out with me all day while I served my time.)

Anyway, our Savoir of good furniture today is Natasha from Parker Furniture Revivals.  She found this dresser hanging out on someone's deck.  Natasha knew a beautiful sturdy piece of furniture such as this one did not deserve to live outside.  She also knew it would perfectly suit her friend's new home...once she made it over.

Natasha said the drawers were in great shape with only one separating at the dovetail.  That was easily fixed with wood glue and a rubber mallet.  The dresser did have a few pieces of trim that needed to be repaired.  After that was complete, Natasha with the help of her dad sanded down the entire piece.

Natasha writes, "My friend wanted a coastal chic vibe for the dresser so I painted the body using latex paint in the color Chandelier Sparkle.  I used a blue tinted stain for the top of the dresser and painted the original drawer pulls black.  The original plan was to distress the dresser but it was so pretty I left it as is.  My friend was thrilled!  When I went to deliver her dresser I left with an antique nightstand (family heirloom) to refinish in the same style."

Let's take a look at this former deck dweller now...

Well done Natasha!  Parker Furniture Revival is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  They're just starting out and loving every minute of furniture flippin'.  You can follow along with Natasha on her Parker Furniture Revival Facebook page.  Let her now you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Natasha for sharing your beautiful furniture flip!

A Yard Sale Queen Becomes A Flippin' Machine...

Allow me today to introduce you to Shelley of Groovy Chic's Rescued Relics.  She is a self-described "Yard Sale Queen".  This past summer Shelley came across this nightstand for only $5.00.  Yes, you read it right!  Five dollars.

She rebuilt the bottom corner of the drawer with wood putty and then applied Gripper Primer.  Ever the thrifty one, she painted it with dark red paint she found at ReStore.  The back wall and drawer was lined with pretty paper.  Then, she stained the top with Dark Walnut stain and added a new knob.

Let's check out the after of this groovy flip...

What a difference!  I love how the new knob ties in with the dark top and the distressing.  Shelley writes, "I furnished my entire home with my groovy finds.  But, I still can't help myself from getting out there to find something so cool I can't pass up.  So, now I am a flippin'!"

Yay Shelley!  You can find Shelley on her Groovy Chic's Rescued Relics Facebook page.  She's located in Paso Robles, California.  Let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'!

Thanks Shelley for sharing your groovy furniture flip!

Dear readers, be sure to come back tomorrow for another great furniture flip AND check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  If you have a furniture flip you'd like to submit, please email me before/after pics and a ton of details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com

See you tomorrow!

Flippin' The Bird

Birds and I do not get along.  They torment me to no end.  I enjoy watching them and they enjoy torturing me.  I'll give you two examples.  In May of 2012, I was almost killed by a Mother Robin who had decided to build her nest on my front porch in my flower arrangement.  She would allow my handsome handy husband to sit out there with her but she didn't like me.  She would routinely try to dive bomb my head while I sat there minding my own business.  (Okay, maybe I wasn't minding my own business.  I do provide commentary on all of the terrible drivers who go by my house.)  She even made me drop my camera and break it.  Evil bird.  It was my porch.  My flowers.

Then in May of 2013, we were coming home from the racetrack, driving down the interstate at 65 MPH in our RV, pulling our car trailer with our race car safely tucked inside.  That's a lot of weight.  All of a sudden we heard a BANG.  We had hit a large bird.  We continued on home, arriving an hour or so later.  We got out to check the RV and the front grill was cracked in half and the bird was laying there dead by the radiator.  Or so we thought.  Turns out he was playing possum because a few hours later when we went to retrieve his lifeless body, he had moved locations in the engine compartment.  HE WAS ALIIIIVE....(read that aloud in a scary voice.)

He wasn't only alive he was fine.  He flew away.  Don't believe me?  Well, check the video I shot.  It was a miracle.  My friend Dori felt bad for him because now he was an hour away from his home and she was afraid he wouldn't know anybody around here.  She feels the same way about flies.  So, if a fly gets in your car you must let it out immediately so it doesn't lose touch with it's family.  (She's a-Dori-able).  Fair warning:  My voice sounds so goofy on video.  I have a tendency to talk reallyreallyreallyfast.

What does this have to do with Furniture Flippin'?  Nothing really.  Except I have bad luck with birds and Linda from Eek To Chic doesn't.

What a segue!  (Get it?  That's a segway, not to be confused with my bird intro to this flip which is a segue.)

Check it out...Linda found this dresser that was sad looking.

Look at the poor thing.  He had been rescued by the right lady.  (She didn't even try to mow him down with an RV.)  Linda repaired his drawers and then set about prettying him up.

She painted him using latex paint followed by CeCe Caldwell wax.  No detail was overlooked for when you open the drawers you get a little surprise...

My favorite part of this flip has to be the front of it though.  Linda decoupaged this awesome Peacock print onto it.  She's an expert at that.  Remember the fantastic Music one she did a few months back?   Let's take a look at the perfection that is this peacock, shall we?

Bravo Linda!!  Bravo!  Readers, here's a tip for you:  if you put a bird on a piece of furniture it sells pretty much immediately.  I've featured quite a few pieces that were flipped the bird and they all sold.  JUST LIKE THIS ONE DID.  Yep, it is sold.

EEK to Chic is based in Chesapeake, Virginia.  You can find Linda's items at 3 Little Blackbirds.  You can also follow along with Linda on the Eek To Chic Facebook page.  Let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'!

Thanks so much Linda for sharing your fine feathered friend furniture flip!  It's stunning.

Dear readers, thanks for indulging my rambling today.  If a bird ever tries to kill you or if you ever miraculously hit one and it lives to turn you in, I will gladly listen to you, too.  Have a lovely Tuesday.

She Got Plenty With A Twenty...

Say hello to Amanda of Reloved Home Designs.  Her story reads a lot like my own.  She's from Illinois.  (Like me.)  She is a bargain shopper.  (Like me.)  She became a stay at home mom 13 years ago after having worked outside the home for many years.  (So did I, but mine was 12 years ago.)  Once home, she needed a creative outlet and started a small crafting business.  (Just like me!  I started a pillow business.)  She loves old furniture and old homes.  (So do I.)  So, there.  She's just like me but she has something that I don't.  I'll get to THAT later.  First, I want to show you this cabinet that she scored for $20 on her local Craigslist.  (I have to stop a moment and chastise all of the people on OUR local Craigslist that price their items way too high.  Get real.  You'd sell it faster if you lowered the outrageous price you are asking OR if you just cleaned off the top of it so we could actually SEE what it looked like.  A picture is worth a thousand words and a picture of old Uncle Hairy draped across the chair/dresser/cabinet does nothing to entice us to buy.)

Rant over.

Amanda painted the entire cabinet using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.  She distressed the entire cabinet by lightly sanding it and then she waxed it.  For the cabinet doors, Amanda writes, "I knew I wanted to do something special.  I just didn't know what that was, so I put the piece aside for a few days to figure out what I was going to do.   Just like most refurbishers, I save everything that I think I can use again.   I just finished up a Mid Century Mod chair (DID SHE EVER!) that needed a new cushion.  I had scraps of fabric left after it was complete.  The shade of blue was just amazing that I knew it would be perfect.  I was so happy when I started taking apart the doors and saw that it was made of several different pieces.  I didn't put all the pieces back on to keep the opening wider for the fabric to shine."

Amanda used Modge Podge as the glue and sealer but once it was dry, it felt rough.  So she lightly used a very fine steel wool to smooth it out.

Let's take a look at all of her hard work...

I think it's gorgeous!  I love that pattern on the fabric.  Somebody else did, too.  Amanda posted it on her Reloved Home Designs Facebook page the night she finished it and it immediately sold.  Great job Amanda!

Now, I want to show you a piece that Amanda has available for sale.  This is what she has that I don't.  Oh, if only I had room for it.  Check out this chair.  There it is before...

And here it is after...

Guess what?!?  It's for sale at the incredible price of $115.00!  You Mid Century Mod lovers better jump on that. (Then send me the pictures afterwards of it in your home.  We all love a good "happily ever after" story.)

You can find Amanda on her Reloved Home Designs Facebook page.  She is based in Volo, Illinois.  Head on over there and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Amanda for sharing your fabulous furniture flip!

That begins another exciting week in our crusade against crappy furniture.  One more piece of furniture saved, 4 more to go to call this week complete.  What are you waiting for?  Submit your flip to me at furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .  Before/after pictures and a lot of info please.

Don't forget!  We are also accepting your witty comments here on the blog.  I get tired of reading just what I wrote.  So, place those fingers on that keyboard and start tapping away.

See you tomorrow!

From Dirty To Purty...

I want you to meet David
Machlan of Leesburg, Virginia.  David and his lovely wife Rhonda are recent empty nesters who are trying to stave off boredom and insanity after the last of their three children flew the coop for college.  Over the last year David has found a passion for making over furniture.  Here's one of his latest...

David got the dresser free off of his local Craigslist.  Can you believe it?  FREE!

David writes, "The outside of the dresser was atrociously dirty but except for a few veneer tears and chips, in pretty decent shape and the bones of this pre-WWII piece are definitely solid.  I repaired the veneer issues and one of the legs where half of it was was completely cracked away.  I used PSP to clean and de-gloss the piece before doing anything else.  The paint color I used is a sort of moss green that was left over flat wall paint from our dining room."

David has a DIY chalk paint recipe that he likes which uses unsanded grout.  He mixed it up and applied two coats of it to the dresser.  He followed that with a dark brown antique glaze and then three coats of Varathane satin finish on everything except the hardware.

The hardware he simply cleaned with detergent and fine steel wool.  David says, "It retains that worn/burnished look but has a new shiny look as well.  The inside of the drawers of this mahogany dresser were still pretty clean so I used a natural citrus restoration product and they came out looking fantastic."

Let's take a look at the dresser now...

It's fantastic!  Rhonda loved it so much she wouldn't let David sell it.  David is always looking for an opportunity to restore other pieces.  His efforts don't just pertain to furniture but also to preserving old memories.  David has been busy digitizing old Kodachrome slides that his dad took back in the day.  That picture includes him and was taken 54 years ago.  David encourages anyone with old slides or photos to think about scanning and preserving them before the media degrades.  Excellent advice.

Thanks so much David for sharing your beautiful furniture flip!

Dear readers, that wraps up another week of Furniture Flips.  Here's your homework for the weekend.  Go save a piece of furniture.  One more thing, your comments are always welcome here on the blog.  Let's hear from you.  Is there a piece of furniture you've redone and not been able to part with once it was finished?  Tell us about it!
See  you Monday!

...and They Flipped Happily Ever After.

Grab your gear and follow me.   (I sound like Gibbs from NCIS.  Hehehehe...) We are going on a road trip today!  We're heading to the United Kingdom.  More specifically to Peterborough.  There we will meet up with a lovely young couple named Vic and Alina.  They are the husband/wife duo behind Chic Barn Hand Painted Furniture.  I hear from a very reliable source that the two of them love America.  So much so that they eloped to Las Vegas five years ago.  (I didn't get the details on whether Elvis performed the ceremony.  I'll have to find that tidbit of info out and report back.)

Once back home they settled into their happy life.  However, Vic doesn't bring his bride flowers anymore.  Nope.  Instead he brings his lady love bouquets of paint brushes.  (How sweet is that!  Husbands take note.  A bouquet of paint brushes for your wife is a wonderful gift.  A bouquet of toilet bowl brushes IS NOT.  I will clobber my handsome handy husband if he ever brings me a bouquet of toilet bowl brushes.)  Check out how sweet the paint brush bouquet and accompanying note is though...

Recently this happy couple acquired this retro Chest of Drawers.  Alina writes, "It was in a very poor state when we got it.  My handy husband managed to fix all the drawers, top, etc.  I decided to go for the bold colours."

All of the drawers were there for this piece but at the time the before picture was snapped, they were still being cleaned of years worth of grime.  Alina chose to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in the colors of Florence and French Linen.  The sides of the chest were waxed with the dark wax to get more depth out of the color while the front was varnished with a matte varnish.

New gold hardware was added and the piece was complete.

Let's take a look at the beautiful after...

That is a winner!  The color and new hardware updates it, yet it still stays true to the period in which it was made.  Very, very well done Vic & Alina!  (When my sister sees this, she will be jealous.  She LOVES Mid Century Modern design.  Her MCM house is filled with it.  The paintbrushes will push her over the edge, too.  She's an artist.  Mental note to self:  Show my brother in law Terry the paintbrush bouquet picture.)

You can find Alina and Vic on their Chic Barn Hand Painted Furniture Facebook page.  Get over there and meet them.  They are just the CUTEST COUPLE EVER!  Let them know you saw them on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much for sharing your super cool retro furniture flip Alina & Vic!

Let's take one more look at it.

There you have it.  Another piece of sad furniture that got it's act together with the help of two kind souls who took it in, spiffed it up and sent it on it's way.  You could get that kind of satisfaction, too, if you began furniture flippin'.  Oh, you already do flip furniture?  Do I know that?  Have you submitted your flip?  If not, email me the before/after picture and all of the details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .  If you already have, fear not tater tot.  Your turn is coming.

See you tomorrow!

Eye Sore No More!

Remember when you were a kid.  You only thought of your teachers as being, well, teachers.  It was strange when you'd run into them in public.  (Not for me though.  I was teacher's pet.  My first day of 1st Grade was my birthday and my teacher Mrs. Davis made me a cake and a card.  In 8th grade, my English teacher Mrs. Duffy had me babysit her daughter while she and Mr. Duffy, also a teacher, went bowling.  PLUS, she let me teach class every Friday and the kids had to call me Miss Graham.  In high school, one of my teachers, Mrs. Johnson, accompanied me and my mom to Chicago for a test for my first real job.  I can go on and on, but I think you get the picture.)

Today we are going to get a glimpse into the lives of two teachers outside of school.

Meet Marie and Meghan of Made Lovely M & M.  They describe themselves as two moms, teachers, crafters, weekend DIYers, friends and dreamers who have a passion for turning ugly, neglected, out-of-date pieces into something lovely.  Here's proof.  This is the "before" of one of their pieces.  They initially paid $10 for it at a garage sale...

They were getting ready to debut at the Kane County Flea Market in November and wanted some show stoppers.  If you have never been to the Kane County Flea Market (located in St. Charles, Illinois) then you are missing out.  It is THE place to go.  So, you should go.  Let me know when you'll be there and I'll trek that way, too.

Meghan said, "This piece was screaming for a two-toned look.  We enjoy creating lovely pieces that are unique but also neutral enough that it would work for the vast amount of buyers.  After it was painted, we were a bit torn on the hardware and didn't have a clear vision for them.  Marie voted on leaving it brass but polishing it up a bit.  I was leaning towards an oil-rubbed bronze.  So we decided to throw if up on Facebook and let our followers decide.  After much discussion, debate, and ideas... it was ruled that they should be left brass.  I have to say that after shining them up a bit- I agree!  What a beauty she is."

They did a two tone effect on it using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco and Old Ochre.

Some wax and gentle distressing were next.  This lead to the gorgeous final result.  Check it out...

Isn't that lovely?  As in every flip we feature here...I want it.  I'm so torn.  Do my guest bedroom furniture like yesterday's flip or do it like today's flip?  If I don't stop this blog RIGHT NOW I'll continue to be conflicted.

If you are conflicted about the way your furniture looks, might I suggest you contact Made Lovely M & M?  You can find them on their Made Lovely M & M Blog.  There you'll see more great examples of the beautiful work they do.  You can also tag along with them on their Made Lovely M & M Facebook page.  Check them out and let them know you saw them on Furniture Flippin'.

Thanks so much Meghan and Marie for sharing your beautiful furniture flip!

We are over half-way through this week of furniture flips!  Have you submitted yours yet?  Email me before/after pictures and a ton of details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .
See you tomorrow!

How Do You Like Me Now?

If you are a longtime Furniture Flippin' reader you know I am not a big fan of French Provincial furniture.  However, I'm slowly being converted over to the other side with each new makeover I witness.  Today's furniture flip further strengthens my conversion from hater to admirer.  It also makes me a little less anxious about the bedroom full of FP furniture on the second floor of my house that has been begging for a new look since the day I brought them home.

Check out what Roni from Roni's Rescued Relics recently transformed.

Roni writes, "A customer brought this piece to us for a small makeover. This piece was in rough shape!  Every drawer was falling apart and had to be reglued.  There was no drawer guide for the top drawer.  The top really bugged me because not only was it a really shiny plastic laminate but the sides on the top were straight, it didn't have the rounded corners on it...like it belonged in the middle of 2 other pieces.  So, I had my husband make a new top for it."

After Roni repaired the drawers and replaced the guide, she mixed up a custom color of paint using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in the color Florence mixed with the color Graphite. She followed that up by applying wax to it and then gold gilding it.  Finally, new "jewelry" (that's what Roni calls the pulls.  L-O-V-E that!) was added.

Check out these amazing pictures of the outcome of all of their hard work.

Look at how the gilding brings out the details.  It perfectly ties into the new pulls.  I don't think a closer match could be found.  Roni needs to just come to Illinois and do my furniture because it'll never look as good as this piece does if I do it myself.

I torture myself with this blog.  I really do.  I'm so jealous of you people with your talent.  Remember when we saw Roni around these parts before?  I showed you her buffet that she turned into a KITCHEN ISLAND.  Then if that wasn't enough, she scored a hat trick with this three for one flip she did that I shared with you here.

Okay, let's take a look at the whole shebang of this furniture flip...
How do you like that!?!  Don't it make my green eyes even greener?  Yes.  I'm green with envy.  I sincerely am.

You can see more of Roni's spectacular furniture flips on her Roni's Rescued Relics Facebook page.  Grab your coffee because you'll be there awhile combing through her photos.  Let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.  Roni's Rescued Relics is based in Long Island, NY.  If any of you are planning a trip there, swing through Illinois with a car trailer.  You can take my stuff out there for her to do for me.  I'll pitch in for gas.

Thanks so much Roni for sharing your awesome furniture flip.

Dear readers, Furniture Flippin' is currently looking for some "What Would You Do" pictures to share with our Furniture Flippin' friends.  If you have a piece of furniture you want to makeover let us help you decide what to do!  Email me a picture along with details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com
I'll see you tomorrow with another amazing flip!

This Blog Is For The Dog...

Those of you who have pets know how much a part of the family they become.  They are like children in some cases.  Me?  I don't currently have a pet.  I do have three children and some days, they are like pets.  There's my son Zach.

Pictured in the doghouse are my two younger children, Taylor Jo and Matthew.  Relax, I didn't put that lampshade on my son.  He was being goofy.  (Although, what a great idea if you have a toddler who bites.)  My other two kids?  They were helping build a really cool dog house for our last dog a few years ago.  Now, had our dog not been huge and always wanting to rock her days away we might have considered doing what Dionna from Radioactive Interiors did for her dog.

When Dionna found this older French Provincial console television, she knew exactly what she was going to do with it.  It would become luxury living for her dog Paris.

Dionna gutted the interior.  She admits that it took quite awhile to do that with all of the components and screws holding it in place.  Once that was done, she put a good solid piece of wood in the bottom and lined it with pink fur.  She chose to use her favorite wall paper for the back wall.  The outside of the television was given a makeover using Martha Stewart's Silver Metallic and Sherwin Williams paint in white and purple.  The top was personalized for little Paris.

Let's check out Paris and her friend in this newly finished haute dog house...

Tres chic!  I think that is cute as heck.  What doggie wouldn't want to be seen hanging out in those digs!  I love it.

(Is anybody else thinking of a different Paris and her former BFF?  No?  Must just be me then.)

You can follow along on the adventures of Dionna and Radioactive Interiors (what a cool name!) on her Radioactive Interiors Facebook page.  Stop by and let her know you saw her on Furniture Flippin'.  She is located in Greenwood, Indiana and I hear she has more of these upscale doggie digs in the works.  If you are in Indiana, check Radioactive Interiors out.  You might just find something you can't live without.

Thanks so much Dionna for sharing your fun furniture flip!

Okay dear readers, if you have a furniture flip you'd like to share, please email me before and after pictures along with a lot of details to furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .  If you don't hear from me right away, don't worry.  It takes me awhile sometimes.  One day I'll just surprise you out of the blue and the feature will be YOU.
See you tomorrow!

Flippin' Plastic Can Be Fantastic!

Don't believe me?  Well, you are in for a treat.  Gather up any young ones you know because these TWO flips are geared towards them!  That's right.  I'm showing you TWO flips today.  One I did and one my friend Rachel at I'll Just Paint It did.

Ask your baby if he really likes sitting in that generic straight from the store high chair you bought him.  Go ahead and ask.  I'll wait...

I bet he said NO!  If he didn't say it, trust me.  He's thinking it.  He wants to be hip and cool.  He wants a highchair that looks just as comfortable at the race track as it does in your kitchen. He wants you to paint that plain white chair...

Then he wants you to use the old babyish seat cushion as a pattern so you can make a new one out of this wipe-able fabric from Hobby Lobby.

Then he wants you to put them all together.  The spray painted black high chair with the new awesome cushion. (I used Rust-Oleum's Paint Plus 2X Ultra Cover spray paint in black semi-gloss.  It bonds to plastic.  Before I began I called the company and not just one, but two employees assured me that once the chair cures for 7-10 days, it will be perfectly safe to serve food on the tray.  If you do this to your own high chair, call the company of whatever paint you choose to use like I did.)

Your baby wants to be seen eating his meals in this...
That's my youngest baby (who is now 12) pictured above on his 1st birthday.  If my first grandbaby turns out to be a girl will I be redoing it?  No.

Because girls can be drag racers and be interviewed on ESPN, too!  That is my niece Tara in her Jr. Dragster and being interviewed by Dave Despain on ESPN.  She's all grown up now and a 3rd grade teacher.

Now, onto our next flip folks.

So, your young one wants to flip some furniture, too?  Well, let's give her some encouragement.  Let's show her what Rachel at I'll Just Paint It did with some help from her little girl.

Rachel found this used Little Tikes Picnic Table for the bargain price of $4.00.

She took it apart and painted the sides with black spray paint for plastic.  Then she bought some stylish vinyl Contact paper for $9.00 and covered the seats and table top with it.

Check out her little darlin' at her fancy flipped table...

So stylish.  It's what ALL of the toddlers of today want to own.  Read more about that table flip at the I'll Just Paint It Blog

There you have it Mommies & Daddies.  Your children don't want to be placed in the same old soft pink and baby blue categories that their parents were assigned as children.  Primary colors?  They're okay.  But, let's make those babies little trendsetters.  Flip that old furniture of theirs and make them the envy of the 3 and under crowd.

You can find Rachel on her I'll Just Paint It blog where she covers a variety of topics.  You also met her here before when I showed you a $3.00 table she flipped.  You can track her down on her I'll Just Paint It Facebook page, too.

Now, readers please do me a HUGE favor.  Rachel recently lost her wonderful father.  He was the driving force in her life and a big champion of her painting business.  His absence has left a really big hole in her family.  She doesn't know that I am featuring her today.  I searched out this flip of hers so I could cheer her up.  It would mean a great deal to me if you could help me lift her spirits and encourage her to keep on painting.  You can leave your comments here or on her blog or Facebook page.

That's it for another week of Furniture Flippin'.  We'll be taking a brief break to enjoy the weekend while dreaming of warmer weather.  That's when my own drag racer, my handsome handy husband, will be hitting the track in our 1964 Olds F-85.  While my nephew races this 1967 Camaro...

If you get bored this weekend, check in with us on our Furniture Flippin' Facebook page.  Let me know what you are working on and join in on the fun we have there.  Or, better yet, submit a flip to me at furnitureflippin@yahoo.com .

Have a great weekend!
