Once Upon A Time...

One day in the land of Tennessee, our friend Marcy from Bella Nouveau Furniture Creations woke up and prayed.  She asked God to bring the people or person her way that He would want her to help or minister to in some way.  Shortly thereafter Marcy happened to be browsing Craigslist (don't be shocked, she can frequently be found on there as can most of you) when she spotted this vanity for sale and the buyer was asking $40.00.

Marcy emailed the buyer.  Not only was it still available but the seller lived close by.  Marcy's handsome handy husband was tired that day and didn't want to drive to retrieve it.  The seller offered to deliver it for $15.  Marcy admits that she had never had anyone deliver an item to her before this day.  She was determined not to lose that vanity because her husband was having a couch potato moment and she accepted the seller's offer. (All in fun Marcy's HHH, we know you earned that day of rest plus your wife wrote that part.  I'm just the messenger.)

An hour later the seller and his family showed up at her door.  He was a young dad with his three kids and pregnant wife.  Marcy could tell from talking to them that they were struggling financially.  They didn't have anything for the baby yet.  Well, it just so happened that Marcy had a beautiful wooden cradle that someone had gifted to her.  She gave that young couple and their family the cradle and a bunch of vegetables she had from her garden.

Marcy took this as clear evidence of how God works and uses us when we ask Him to.  If Marcy and her husband had picked up that vanity she wouldn't have been able to hand them that cradle that was in her garage or the huge bags of vegetables she had just picked.

That got Marcy to thinking about how magical and awesome God is and the power of a little prayer.  Great things can happen if we just believe.  That's what made her think of the Once Upon A Time theme for this vanity.

She painted the vanity in the colors Vintage Rose and Antique White.  For the drawers she used the sweetest scrapbook paper.  She burned the edges and then decoupaged them onto the drawers.

Let's take a look at the happily ever after this vanity received...
Isn't that sweet?  As Marcy said in her email to me, "Even though we live in the real world, magical and great things can happen if we only ask and believe."  Proof positive in today's furniture flip.  It was a happy ending for all involved.
